Directed by Nia Dinata, Love for Share follows the lives of three women from different social and cultural backgrounds who find themselves entangled in polygamous marriages.
Salma, a successful obstetrician, struggles to maintain her marriage after her husband takes another wife. Siti, a young woman from Java seeking a better life in Jakarta, becomes involved in a complicated family arrangement when she marries her own uncle, who already has two wives. Meanwhile, Ming, a young woman working at a restaurant, accepts a marriage proposal from its much older owner, unaware of how the decision will affect her independence and future.
Through these interconnected stories, the film explores the complexities of love, marriage, gender inequality, and women's autonomy within a society shaped by tradition and social expectations. Blending drama with moments of humor, Love for Share offers a thought-provoking perspective on polygamy and the struggles women face in navigating their own choices and identities.
